Liberty Leatherbarrow-Stokes aged 9 from St Dominic's Primary
School, Inchbrook has made a special IT Christmas Wreath for Jatech
Ltd. She reused mainly recycled electrical components, left over
decorations and repainted an old toy robin with a little help from
her Mum.
Jeff Tyndall, Jatech's MD was delighted by her innovative and
artistic use of materials. The decoration can be seen on the front
door of their Stonehouse offices, 2 Springfield Business Centre
where Jatech provide IT support for local companies and develop
software for businesses across the world.
Liberty is a keen member of the Eco Club at St Dominic's. She
recently won the Bristol Environmental Trade Show prize involving a
ride round in the Bio Bug - a converted VW Beetle that runs on
household waste.
St Dominic's believe that learning should be fun and creative.
They plan for a variety of off-site activities using the local
outstanding environment. Visitors come to the school to enhance
children's learning and make subjects relevant for pupils.
The school was featured on ITV The West Country Tonight for it's
initiative keeping honey bee hives on the school field. Children
learn all about the bees, what they need and how to look after
them. The school is repaid with honey they can sell and a brilliant
pertinent learning experience for everyone.
